NATIONAL LOTTERY GRANTS NOW AVAIBLE FROM HSE

Grants are available from the HSE to community based groups and voluntary organisations under the Respite Care Grant Scheme and the National Lottery Grant Scheme.

 

Groups and organisations involved in the provision of Health and Personal Services can apply for once off funding for suitable projects.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST LINE OF TEDDY BEARS

Sunday,  17 May, 2015.

Yes !! Another world record attempt !!

 

Sponsored by The Caroline Foundation and Lakers.

Longest line of Teddy Bears will go along Greystones Seafront.

8,000 Teddy Bears will be needed.

80 Teams.

 

This is also a fundraising event,  €10 for each Teddy Bear.

Joint Policing Committee Public Meeting

Greystones Municipal District

Kilcoole Community Centre;  8:00 p.m.

 

The purpose of the JPC is to provide a forum where the local authority and the senior Garda officers,  responsible for the policing of the area,  can consult and make recommendations on matters affecting the policies of the area.

 

In particular,  the JPC keeps under review the levels and patterns of crime,  disorder and anti-social behaviour occurring and the factors underlying and contributing to it.

 

To make the meeting more productive,  it would be helpful to submit questions before the meeting to Lorraine Galllagher,  [email protected].

 

Come along to hear the latest on policing in our area.

You will have an opportunity to meet with An Garda Síochána directly.

Celebrating the music of Ella Fitzgerald on the anniversary of her birth,  Stella will be joined by three of Ireland’s hottest jazz musicians.

GREYSTONES VOLUNTARY THERAPIES

Tonight and each last Monday of the month.

St. Patrick’s Parish Centre,  Church Road; 

7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

 

A group of therapists give their time to provide therapies to members of the public.

In exchange for the treatment,  a suggested donation of €15 may be made.

The money donated is given to local charities or groups who are felt to need support.

 

All the therapists are qualified and have their own insurance.

 

Therapies include:

          Back Massage          Indian Head Massage          Reflexology

          Reiki                       Amatzu                            Energy Healing

          Shiatzu

These very special sessions are only for men bereaved in the last year or two.

They will be professionally and expertly facilitated by the Irish Hospice Foundation.

 

Greystones Cancer Support recognises that men grieve differently from women.

Bereavement is a very difficult process.  Special assistance can be helpful.

If you know a man bereaved by cancer,  please let him know about these sessions.
