U14 Pat’s girls retain Ellen Kinch Cup for 4th year

It was a wet and windy afternoon last Saturday in Ballinakill for this years County Football Feile as Pats girls went in search of their fourth title in a row.

The girls defeated Bray and a much improved Baltinglass to reach the final against AGB.

Once again this was a very tight game and scores were hard come by as both defences and goal keepers were on top throughout. The excellent Sinead Mcgettigan kicked 2 points as Pats led 2 -1 at half time. A goal from full forward Niamh McSorley and another point from Sinead McGettigan put the girls five points ahead with only 5 mins to go.

Arklow got a goal and a point to leave just a point in it at the end. Special mention to our keeper Aoife Dunne defenders Kellie Phelan, Lucy Dunne, Amy Kavanagh, Jess Lyons, Zoe Armstrong along with Sarah Evans who was great throughout the afternoon. Jackie Kynch presented the Ellen Kinch cup to winning captain Sinead McGettigan.

Congratulations to all the management team. Thanks to the referees who officiated and to Terry Canavan who organised the tournament.
