  1. WICKLOW GO FOR LIFE GAMES 2015 WORKSHOP:  14 MAY 2015

Shoreline Leisure Centre;  10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

 

Information session about Go for Life games tryouts which will be held 29 May in Laragh.

Go for Life Games itself takes place on 6 June at Dublin City University.

 

Games are open to anybody who wishes to come along,  individuals or groups.

Emphasis is on taking part and having fun.

Tea and coffee will be served.

 

Go for Life Games are adapted versions of Bocce, Pitching and Skittles.

These are simple games to learn and play as well as being great fun.

LUGNAQUILLA 2015 SCHEDULE

Walk up Lugnaquilla,  the highest mountain in Leinster !!

Lugnaquilla is the highest mountain outside of Kerry,  925 metres above sea level.

This challenging but accessible mountain is one of the best walks in the Wicklow Mountains.

On a clear day,  it offers breathtaking views over the Wicklow mountains and far beyond.

Series of fully guided walks are now being organised by Footfalls Walking Holidays.

 

Third Sunday of the month from May to September:

          17 May                             21 June                   19 July

          16 August                20 September

 

Each walk is fully guided by qualified and experienced mountain leaders.

Yes !! Another world record attempt !!

 

Teddy Bear line is sponsored by The Caroline Foundation and Lakers.

Longest line of Teddy Bears will go along Greystones Seafront.

8,000 Teddy Bears will be needed.

80 Teams.

 

This is also a fundraising event,  €10 for each Teddy Bear.

Second Wind was formed in 2013,  focussing on popular songs from the ballad boom era,  1960s.  Many of these songs have strong chorus lines and work well for audience singalongs.

 

Second Wind also perform a range of traditional Irish tunes from dance melodies to more delicate nedieval pieces such as Turlough O Carolan.

GREYSTONES VOLUNTARY THERAPIES

Tonight and each last Monday of the month.

St. Patrick’s Parish Centre,  Church Road; 

7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

 

A group of therapists give their time to provide therapies to members of the public.

In exchange for the treatment,  a suggested donation of €15 may be made.

The money donated is given to local charities or groups who are felt to need support.

 

All the therapists are qualified and have their own insurance.

 

Therapies include:

          Back Massage          Indian Head Massage          Reflexology

          Reiki                       Amatzu                            Energy Healing

          Shiatzu
