KARE Coffee Morning
Come and join us at our summer coffee morning in the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely on Friday 3rd July between 10am and 1pm. Proceeds to KARE a voluntary organization founded in 1967 by parents and friends of people with an intellectual disability. Fundraising is an important source of additional income for KARE. Tinahely Local Service was established in 2003. Thank you for your generous support. Please do stop by and enjoy some delicious cake and a cuppa. We look forward to welcoming you.

On Sunday June 28 the walk will be Lugnaquilla (Grade A, 16km, 4 hours) meeting in Tinahely Square at 9.00am. On Sunday July 5 there will be a Wicklow coastal walk (Grade C, 15km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely Square at 9.30am or Wicklow town at 10.15. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. (Walk grades: A is the hardest and C is the easiest – depends on gradient and duration.) Come join our Two Exciting Summer Camps not to be missed. Venue: Carnew National School, Date: 27th July- 1st Aug 15, Age group: 4-12, Time: 9.30-12 (Art Camp) 12-2 (Activity Camp). Art in the morning (Stop Motion Animation, Sugar Craft, Design/Paint your own fairy door & lots more, with art competition on the last day). Activity camp in the afternoon (Introduction to Tae-Kwon-Do, circuit training & lots more). Demonstration & Competition on the last day, with medals & certs. Join us for the Art Camp or Activity camp only or both. Over 14yrs experience delivering Art Camps to the community & over 20years Tae-Kwon-Do experience. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Lizzie Nolan, Deerpark who died during the week, her remains were removed from McCrea’s Funeral Home on Thursday evening for Shillelagh and burial took place on Friday.
To the family and relatives of Mary Doyle, Sydney and Ballindaggin who died recently and was buried on Tuesday in Ballindaggin cemetery.

Get well wishes go to Fr Barry Ffrench, Ballymoney and Askamore.

The presentation of knitted/crochet blankets, hats, mitts, bootees and cardigans will be made to the Coombee Hospital on Wednesday 24th June at 3pm in Carnew Day Centre, all are welcome to come along. Many thanks to everyone who has knitted/crochet for this very worthy cause, your generosity was amazing. This project is ongoing so if you want to keep knitting/crochet it would be most welcome.

Little Acorns Playschool Carnew have two vacancies for childcare workers who are eligible for a C.E. scheme to commence in September 2015.Applicants must have completed or in the process of completing Fetac level 5 in childcare. Come join our Tae Kwon-Do Summer Boot Camp (Training will take place outdoors weather permitting; it will include boxing and kicking techniques, bag workouts, circuit training & much more.) Who is this camp for, anyone who would like to experience the fighting & fitness part of Tae Kwon-do, no experience needed. Takes place every Mon starting 6th -27th July. Carnew’s 70th Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday July 18th. Why not get involved by volunteering on the day or by entering the many competitions. With the usual classes for horses, ponies and sheep there is also lots of indoor competitions in baking, crafts, flowers, art, photography and over 20 competitions for kids of all ages in the Junior Section. Enniscorthy Drama Group present The plough and the Stars in St Brigid’s Hall, Carnew on Friday 26th June at 8pm.

Feile Peile Na Nog will take place this weekend in Wicklow, Wexford and Carlow, we wish the very best of luck to all the boys and girls and their mentors who are taking part from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th. A warm welcome is extended to our visiting teams especially Ballinacourty Waterford and Tourlestrane, Sligo who are staying with us. Matches will take place in the sports field on Friday evening at 5 and 6 pm and Saturday morning at 11am. On Friday evening at 8.30pm there will be a parade of all 4 teams from the church to Kennys Corner. It would be nice if residents and shopkeepers could help us to welcome our visitors by putting out flags/bunting outside their premises. We are all looking forward to an enjoyable weekend.

Congratulations and well done to all who took part and travelled to the hurling feile last weekend, Carnew stayed in Coothill Co Cavan, they won their first game against St Fechins of Louth 4-6 to 3-2, they lost their second game to Padraig Pearse 2-4 to 0-6 and won their third game against Coothill, Cavan 2-3 to 1-0, they went to the quarter final fo the shield and won against Cavan Gaels, they won the semi final against Cuchallins Armagh and won the final against Sallins in Monaghon by 8 points. Well done to all the players and mentors and all who travelled to support them.
