Friends of Merlin FUN DOG SHOW in aid of Dogs Trust

The local organisation Friends of Merlin will run a FUN DOG SHOW in Greystones on Sunday August 2nd, behind the Beach House bar, starting at 2pm in aid of DOGS TRUST.  This follows a successful summer of events last year which raised much needed funds for Dogs Trust and which also helped to raise awareness in the local area of responsible – and fun – dog ownership.

There are a number of classes to enter for beginners to seasoned entrants including golden oldies over 8 years old and best dog led by a child under 14 years.  The ever popular – and often hilarious – agility round will also take place with owners and dogs showing off their skills and pizzazz in the ring!

Classes at the Friends of Merlin FUN DOG SHOW in Greystones on August 2nd cost E4 per class or 3 classes for E10.  There will be prizes for winners and runners up kindly supplied by local veterinary practise Blacklion Pet Hospital.

The Dog Show is run by Friends of Merlin, a group of local animal lovers led by Jon Jameson who has run the Bray Dog Show for well over a decade and the Greystones Dog Show for the last 23 years.  Merlin was rescued about 10 weeks old and lived a long and happy life in the Wicklow countryside.  In his lifetime, Merlin was well known in the Co Wicklow area through his educational school visits and parties for students teaching them about animal welfare and the life of a rescue dog.

Entry forms for the Friends of Merlin Fun Dog Show can be completed by arriving anytime from 1pm at the back of The Beach House bar in Greystones before start of show at 2pm on Sunday August 2nd.  Alternatively entry forms can be obtained in advance by emailing: [email protected] or by connecting with Friends of Merlin on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfMerlin
