East Coast of Ireland Open Water Swimming
Greystones South Beach Challenge 1k 2k 3k 4k Event.
Sat the 29th of August at 3.00 pm – 6.00pm
The first Greystones challenge swim takes place at the picturesque location of Greystones South Beach on the 29th of August at 3pm. This event gives swimmers of all abilities the unique opportunity to reach their own personal goals at the one event. There will be a buoyed 1K course running in line with the coast. Swimmers will swim the 1k course as many times as it takes to reach their goal. The swim is organised with swimmers safety and swimming goals in mind and will be run to the same high standard you have a come to expect from an East Coast of Ireland Open Water Swim Event. Refreshments will be provided on exit from the water. Swimmers can register on the day at the bottom of the steps leading down to the beach. This event is open to everyone wetsuits or swim suits can be worn. Registration will be taken on the day from 2.30pm.
East Coast of Ireland Open Water Swimming club was set up to encourage the people of Greystones to take up open water swimming. Their aim is promote open water swimming along the east coast and to share their passion for swimming and the open water. With over 30 members in its first year running the club welcomes every type of the swimmer from the competitive skinned swimmer, tri athletes to the novice and are delighted to be holding their first challenge event in their training waters of the Greystones South Beach. People are encouraged to come along and take part or to cheer on the swimmers.
