Friends of Merlin fun dog walk

Friends of Merlin are hosting a FUN DOG WALK on Sunday 27th September at 2.30pm in Bellevue Woods, Glen of the Downs, Co Wicklow in aid of Dogs Trust.  The walk continues the fundraising efforts for Dogs Trust by local group ‘Friends of Merlin’ who run the Bray and Greystones dog shows.

Walkers are encouraged to come out and enjoy the gorgeous scenery, autumn colours and a leisurely walk – with or without a four legged friend!  Enjoy the walk at your own pace – a brisk walk or a gentle stroll.  Donations are accepted on the day or sponsorship cards are available in advance from [email protected] or by calling 087 6267334.

Refreshments will be provided for walkers after the event.  Car parking is located onsite and Bellevue Wood at the Glen of the Downs is within easy reach of Greystones, Bray, Wicklow and surrounding areas.

Friends of Merlin is a group of local animal lovers led by Jon Jameson who has run the Bray Dog Show for well over a decade and the Greystones Dog Show for the last 23 years.  Merlin was rescued about 10 weeks old and lived a long and happy life in the Wicklow countryside.  In his lifetime, Merlin was well known in the Co Wicklow area through his educational school visits and parties for students teaching them about animal welfare and the life of a rescue dog.
