Wicklow 2-17 Meath 2-15

Wicklow have beaten Meath in the U-21 B hurling championship in Thurles.

Leading by a point at the break following a goal from a Gavin Weir penalty, Wicklow were fast out of the blocks in the second half.

They stretched there lead and it never looked like the result would be in doubt, until the dying minutes of the game when two points and a goal left Meath with a goal to get and seconds only on the clock.

Bosco O’Neill said after the game he was more nervous in that one hour than over 20 years of playing.

Congratulations to all.
