Halloween Fishing Competition
There will be a fishing competition at the NDAF “Fishing for All” Angling Facility, Rednagh Road, Aughrim on Bank Holiday Monday  October 26th from 12 to 3pm. Prizes – Plaques and Fishing Vouchers for heaviest Senior catch of the day and Junior catch of the day. Entry fee is included in admission ticket. Table Quiz

Aughrim ICA guild are holding a table quiz in O’Toole’s on Friday October 30th.  Your support would be greatly appreciated. This should be a fun night and no too taxing on the brain.

Aughrim Tennis

Indoor Tennis classes continue for both adults and juniors every Monday in Aughrim’s Leisure Complex. A new Course starts on Monday November 2nd running for 6 wks finishing on Monday December7th.  Adults: Beginners-Intermediate,  Monday Mornings 9.30 – 10.30am  8 adults per class 6 wk term, costs €55 per person.  Juniors: 7-12 yrs  all levels,  Monday afternoons 4.30 – 5.30 pm  places limited 6 wk term costs €40  pp ( €75 for 2 children same parent). Coffee Morning
Come and join us in the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely for a Halloween Coffee Morning on Friday 30th October 10a.m – 1p.m. Bring your family and friends and join in the fun. Enjoy a  cuppa, cake and chat. Halloween attire is optional. Thank you for your continued and valued support. Everyone is welcome.

GAA
Our Senior footballers completed their League programme with a win over Stratford last Tuesday night.  In a keenly contested game we emerged winners on a score line of 0-9 to 0-8.  It was a great way to finish off the season. The Club would like to extend sympathy to Liam Fanning and family on the death of Liam’s sister Peggy Short R.I.P.  Any contribution to be included in the County Yearbook should be sent to the Club Secretary and, or Club Chairman before next weekend.

Community Games

Our AGM took place last Thursday evening in the complex in Aughrim. A poor turnout, I think people were afraid to come and see what we are all about!!!! But a committee was formed and as follows: Chairperson: Michael Duffy. Secretary: Fiona Shannon. Treasurer: Majella O’Shea and committee members Tara Lyons, Aine Lally, Caoimhe Byrne. Pat Lalor stood down and we would like to thank him for all his hard work with coaching and support over the last few years. New events were discussed and information of them will follow.

Athletics’ Training

Our athletics training is going well every Monday evening at 7pm. We will be taking the mid term off and are back on Monday 2nd November. Have a great week off and enjoy your “trick and treating”. Be Safe.
Church of Sacred Heart

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament between 8.00.a.m. and 10.00.a.m. each morning
(Monday to Friday) inclusive in Church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim.  This will be followed immediately
by Prayers and Holy Communion each morning.

New to You Charity Shop

Helping towards the upkeep of the Pavilion, Fishing Park and village of Aughrim.  We have had a very good summer, so our stock is low.  We are appealing for donations of saleable goods – bric a Brac, clothing, small pieces of furniture toys etc.  If you have something that you have no further use for but feel it would suit someone else please donate.  Our opening hours are 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 4pmTuesday to Friday and 10am to 2pm Saturday.  Thank you.  Aughrim Tidy Towns.
Active Retirement

Art Classes continue on Wednesdays at 10.30am in The Pavilion and Aqua Aerobics on Thursdays – meet at Lawless’ Hotel at 10.20am to car share.  Tuesday, October, 27th will see us back at Brooklodge for a pampering session followed by lunch.  At our November meeting we will have an introduction to Mindfulness with Fiona O’Donnell. Also in November Avondale Community College will have ‘Log on and Learn’ technology, one-to-one classes, conducted by their Transition Year Students.  Monday Coffee Mornings have recommenced at 10.30am in The Pavilion – new members always welcome.

First Responders

Aughrim First Responders are holding a training weekend for new members on October 24th & 25th – any Club member who wishes to become a First Responder and/or wishes to learn about the use of the new defibrillator situated on the Credit Union wall (Market Square) can do so by contacting Sharon Keogh 087 1255623 or Dolly Lee 086 3843194 for any further information or questions. There is also training given in The Community Field on the first Thursday of every month.
