It’s going to be a cold, wet and windy weekend as cold winds and wintry showers are set to sweep in from the west this afternoon.
Temperatures are set to drop back quickly this afternoon which could lead to wintry showers over higher ground in Wicklow. Tonight is also set to be a bitterly cold night with temperatures between one and five degrees.
And while temperatures are set to pick up tomorrow, the remainder of the weekend looks like being a wild one.
Wicklow Weather have issued a weather alert for the weekend with the Aughrim based forecaster saying that Gales will affect all of Ireland throughout the weekend with gusts of 100 kmh possible in places.
Heavy rainfall is also set to be a factor this weekend and flooding is likely in places.
Heavy rain will turn more showery through the aft and it will become cold and windy. Temperatures will drop to around 6 to 8 mid-afernoon
