One man was arrested on Thursday afternoon after a property auction was called off in Co. Wexford.
Gardai from Gorey and Arklow were called to the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey, where an auction was taking place, after a group arrived to protest at the event.
Thirty-two houses and 16 acres of land, were due to be auctioned at the event.
It’s understood some of the properties being auctioned were secured on NAMA loans and in control of a receiver.
A man in his early thirties was arrested, it’s expected he will appear in court at a later date.
This afternoon (Friday) the Garda Síochana Ombudsman Commission has opened an investigation into the circulating video of a Garda using force at a property auction in Wexford.
“GSOC is appealing for anyone who may have been present and witnessed the events, or anyone with information which may assist the investigation, to contact them on 1890 600 800.”
