Arklow restaurateur makes settlement of over €1 million with Revenue

An Arklow restaurateur has made a settlement with the Inland Revenue for over €1 million.

Sau Kuen Hung paid €1.24 million back for the underdeclaration of the VAT and income tax.

He was the second highest tax defaulter in the country according to the latest tax defaulters list released by the revenue commission today.

The highest was Cork Publican Billy O’Flynn, who paid back nearly € 3 million for the underdeclaration of income tax and capital gains tax.

The latest list covers a three month period from July 1st until September 30th.

In total, there was 67 defaulters on the list and over €14 million was paid back to the exchequer.
