New to You Charity Shop

The “New to You” charity shop on Rednagh Road will be holding a Customer Appreciation Day on Friday 18th December to thank all our customers for their support over the last year. There will be minced pies and mulled wine in the shop from 10am – 1pm.  We wish all our customers a very Happy Christmas.

Active Retirement

Thank you to all who contributed to our envelope collection which amounted to 145 Euro. This has now been given to Wicklow Hospice who expressed sincere thanks to the group.

We will be starting off 2016 with a talk on 1916 at our meeting on 5th January at 2.30pm in the Pavilion. As this is a special occasion the meeting will be open to non members.

There will be no more Monday Coffee Mornings until January 2016 – date to be announced at January meeting.
Our AGM will take place in February and voting papers for a new committee will be distributed on 5th January.

GAA

At a very well attended A.G.M last Thursday in the Community Complex a review of a very successful years activities both on and off the field was given by outgoing Chairman Liam Keenan.  Liam Keenan who had completed a very successful three year term handed over the running of the Club to newly elected Chairman Kevin Mann.  We would like to wish Kevin well in his new role as Club Chairman.
Our Christmas juvenile draw takes place next Friday night 18th in O’Toole’s pub.  All raffle tickets and monies for the juvenile club draw are to be returned to any member of the Juvenile Committee or Liam Keenan Senior before Thursday December 17th.  All deceased members of Aughrim G.A.A. Club were remembered in Masses last weekend.

GAA

Please note that the rescheduled A.G.M. of Aughrim G.A.A. Club has been fixed for this Thursday night 10th December at 8.00p.m.  All members, new members, ex members, players, coaches, parents and anyone interested are all invited to this important meeting to ensure the continued success of the Club.  The sympathy of the Club is extended to the Kelly family on their recent bereavement.  The Club would like to congratulate the Derry Gaels minor football team on their fine win over Rathnew in the minor ‘C’ football final recently.  Finally we would encourage all involved in the Club to support the Aughrim Sports Club weekly lotto draw which benefits not only Aughrim G.A.A. but also the Aughrim Camogie Club and Aughrim Soccer Club equally.  The upkeep and running of the local Community Sports Complex and playing pitches rely on this funding also.

Saturday December 19th is your last chance to pick up that special gift at your local market at The Pavilion on Rednagh Rd from 10am – 2pm. Turkey & ham orders will be available for collection on Wednesday 23rd from 3pm – 4pm. The market will re-open on Saturday January 9th where a warm welcome awaits you. Stephen’s Day Fishing Competition
There will be a fishing competition at the NDAF “Fishing for All” Angling Facility, Rednagh Road, Aughrim on Bank Holiday Monday December 28th from 12 – 3pm. Prizes – Plaques and Fishing Vouchers for heaviest Senior catch of the day and Junior catch of the day. Entry fee included in admission ticket. Lotto

The numbers: were: 10, 13, 15, 19 and 21 drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday December 7th. Match three winners were: Geraldine O’Brien, Jane Moules and Lorcan Kavanagh. The jackpot is €5400.
