Aughrim CFR will hold their 2015 annual general meeting December 3rd at 7.30pm in the community sports centre.

Active Retirement

What a lovely day we had last Tuesday when 13 of us set off for Springmount Garden Centre where we did some Christmas shopping and had a delicious lunch.  Next Friday is party time in Lawless’ Hotel at 7.15pm for a pre dinner drink. Don’t forget your Kris Kindle. The Positive Ageing Christmas Party in the Arklow Bay Hotel is on Sunday, December 13th at 3pm.

Aughrim Fair

Next Sunday December 6th the Aughrim Fair takes place in the function room of Lawless’ Hotel from 11 – 5. Over the years the Aughrim Fair, organized by the Aughrim Business Association has proven to be a source of high quality arts and crafts, cakes, plants, health products and much more, all presented by local businesses. The Riverside Arts Gallery, Tinahely will present a collection of paintings and the local restaurant The Stonecutter has a wide range of breads, cakes and other tasteful products on offer. At 1.15 the local Anne Devlin music group will give an entertaining performance and at 2.30 Santa will arrive with enough sweets for all. There is a treasure hunt for children with fun prizes. All these activities and the admission are free, so no excuse to miss a wonderful opportunity to get your presents organized! Athletics Training

Athletics continue every Monday evening at 7pm. The evenings are getting cold so wrap up well and bring your water.

Pottery Demo

Helena Brennan,  Potter will bring her Potter’s Wheel to Aughrim’s Town & Country Market  to demonstrate & exhibit her craft from this Sat 10am-2pm  Helena [pronounced Hell,ena] was Awarded Honorary Membership (in 2014 ) of the International Academy of Ceramics, for her contribution to the development of Irish Pottery over the last half century. The Saltee Party Night

The Saltee pub Annacurra is under new ownership and is having a launch night this Saturday December 5th to celebrate.   Come along and enjoy  a glass of festive mulled wine some festive food and loads of festive cheer! Music will be by ‘ The whole hog’.

The numbers: were: 7, 10, 21 and 23 drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday November 23rd. There was one match three winner: Wy, Shy, Bo & Halen c/o Eithne. The jackpot is €5100.

Polish Mass for Advent

Mass in the Polish Language will be celebrated for Advent in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim on Sunday December 6th. at 12 o’clock.  Confessions will take place at 11:30.
