Sympathy is extended to the Whelan Family on the death of Davy Dennis, husband of the late Maureen. Davy died in the loving care of the Staff in St. Vincents Hospital , Athy where he had been a patient for many years. He is mourned by his sisters Kathleen, Breda and Tess and many nieces and nephews. Davy’s burial took place in Dunlavin. May Davy rest in peace.
Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance have just launched their annual Christmas cards. As usual they have a varied selection and include a little comedy this year. They are sold in packs of 15 for €8. There are no administrative costs courtesy of the many outlets who them so for every pack sold €5 goes directly to research.
A family walk will take place in Hollywood on St Stephen’s Day ,December 26th Three walks are arranged with a 12km walk starting at 12noon,a 6km walk commencing at 1pm and a 2km walk starting at 2pm. Refreshments and food will be available after the walks. Registration takes place at Tutty’s pub and costs 5 euro.All funds raised go towards Solas,a special class for children on the Autistic Spectrum. Great way to walk off the Christmas Fare.

Dunlavin’s Christmas lights were officially switched on last Saturday. The town looks great, well done to all involved. Please support the local businesses and keep our town alive.
West Wicklow Historical Society
West Wicklow Historical Society has launched its latest Journal. This is Journal No. 8 from the WWHS. It features articles associated with such places as Baltinglass, Dunlavin, Hollywood and Killamote, and the joint editors are Chris Lawlor and Donal McDonnell. Promises to be a great Christmas stocking filler.
Badminton – has restarted on Thursday nights in the Imaal Hall at 8.30pm. New and old members welcome.
The Friendship Group – have started back on Fridays from 3.00pm to 5.00pm in the Parish Centre. New members welcome. There will be light exercises from 2.30pm. Anyone interested in the Community Alert panic button can find out more details at the Friendship Group on Fridays.
