Hollywood Tidy Towns

Good news for Hollywood. It was revealed over the weekend that Hollywood won Wicklow’s ‘Tidiest Main Street’ award again this year, the village also took home the county ‘Landscaping’ award for the first time, in the Wicklow Tidy Towns, Estates & Environmental awards. Congratulations to all involved!!! The committee continue their work mornings every Sat, meeting in the car park at 10am, new volunteers are always welcome. Please note volunteers needed to help with planting etc for next few Saturday’s, meet in Car Park 10 am. Thank You


Hollywood Ballymore Boxing Club

Hollywood Ballymore boxing Tournament takes place in Poulaphouca on Saturday 5th December at 7.30pm


Live Nativity: In Hollywood Village 3pm Sunday 20th Dec. Christmas Carols ( all musicians and singers invited to take part) We look forward to an enjoyable evening.


West Wicklow Historical Society

The 8th Journal of the West Wicklow Historical Society, launched recently in Baltinglass, contains two articles by Hollywood authors.  Johnny Glennon has a fascinating piece on a famous row which broke out in 1886 between two publicans in Ballymore and which soon engulfed the entire parish of Ballymore and Hollywood.  Brendan Corrigan has a very interesting article on Robert Pipho of Hollywood who was sheriff of Dublin and lived in the castle at Hollywood in the second half of the 16th century.  The Journal is now on sale in Daly’s shop Hollywood, Blessington bookshop and other local outlets.


Hollywood Bowls

The Club bowl every Tuesday & Friday nights in The Hollywood Centre between 8-10pm. New Members’ are always welcome, so come along and see what it is all about, it is a great way to spend the Winter nights


Hollywood Juvenile Badminton

The Hollywood Juvenile badminton on Mondays for 2nd & 3rd Class 7pm-8pm.

Tuesdays for 4th,5th & 6th Classes 6.30-8pm. Wednesdays for 1st Year and upwards 6.30-8pm If you haven’t already registered,  there are still a few places left, so come along on the relevant night and join.


Music Under  The Mountain

Traditional Music Classes for children in the Hollywood Centre every Saturday morning from 10.30am to 1.30pm.


Hollywood Parent & Toddler Group                                                                          

Hollywood Parent & Toddler Group will continue meeting  on Thursday the 3rd, 10th & 17th of December in The Hollywood Centre from 10am to 12noon, cost is €3 per family. New members always welcome. Due to lack of support recently it will have to be reviewed as to whether the group continues to meet in 2016. It would be a pity to see this very worthwhile facility finish as it is a great way for parents / carers to meet new people and also enjoy a chat & light refreshments while the little ones play!
FAIR 2016  Preparations are in hand for next year’s Fair.  The Theme “1916” THE RISING” Fashion and Dress code to coincide with The Style of that era

Hollywood Fitness Classes

Classes continue every Tues & Thurs at 7.30 sharp in the Function Room, Poulaphuca House.  Please note change of venue. All levels of fitness, both male & female, catered for.  From beginners to those wanting a tougher challenge. All in a fun filled relaxed environment !! A male only class will be made available depending on numbers interested.  


Pilates Classes

The Pilates classes have finished for this year and will resume in Jan 2016.

Set Dancing

Will take place each Thursday from 8.15-10.15pm  in the Hollywood G.A.A. centre (Dunlavin Road). New people are always welcome.


Kidz in Theatre

Kidz In Theatre  are in the Hollywood Centre every Tuesday between 4-5pm for children from 4~18yrs who want acting classes and more confidence. The classes are just €7 per child and is being taught by the star of Mrs Brown’s Boys and RED ROCK on TV3. Following the success of Dunlavin, Kiltegan and Tinahely schools. Adult Jive Classes

Adult Jive Classes every Saturday in modern Jive dance. Professional teachers will teach you all the moves , that will make your friends envious. The time is between 3-5pm and both singles & couples are welcome.

Hollywood G.A.A.

A.G.M Sunday  6th December at 4.30 pm in the GAA centre

Lotto results. There was no winner of the Hollywood GAA lotto draw. Numbers drawn 5, 11, 13 & 14. The free book went to Poulaphouca House.
