St Patrick’s Club notes December 21

St. Patrick’s Club notes – 21st December 2015

Big congratulations to County Captain and our Club Player Dean Healy, what a great year for him! He won “County Senior Footballer” at the Player of the Year Awards at the Wicklow GAA Convention. The Club are very proud.

Congratulations to our Club Member, the outgoing County Secretary Michael Murphy who received a presentation from County Chairman Martin Coleman to mark his 12 years of service to Wicklow GAA. We wish you well in your retirement – The County’s loss may be the Club’s gain!

Congratulations to Blessington’s Chris O’Connor who has been elected as the First Lady County Secretary and to Carnew’s Bridget Kenny who has been elected as the Assistant County Secretary of Wicklow County Board at Wicklow County Convention.

Best wishes to our former Club Player, Referee, Coach, Selector, Treasurer and Juvenile Chairman Ian O’Brien and Ruth Henry who got married on Sunday.

With Christmas just a few days away, there is still some Club Gear left in stock! If you’re interested you can contact Alan 087 621 4903 for a perfect last minute Christmas gift.

A remembrance mass for Jordan Giannikis is on Wednesday 23rd at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church.

John Casey of Plymouth, MA passed suddenly on Thursday December 10, 2015. Born in Co. Cork, raised in Wicklow Town, and graced the lives of many in the Greater Boston area over the last twenty years. John will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Jessica, parents Sean and Bridie, his siblings Sharon, Ronan and Susan, his cousin Paul, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends. John will always be remembered for his passion for sport, specifically GAA and Tuesday golf, his kindness and his gentle soul. John was a member of St. Patrick’s GAA Club and represented his club and county with distinction at all levels. Loved by all, John achieved a life’s worth of accomplishments, including the Puddingstone Tavern, a collecting place for friends, family, and neighbors from around the world. Just John’s style.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 28th at 12pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Wicklow Town.
