Martha Herda found guilty of Arklow Murder

Marta Herda the woman accused of killing a man in Arklow over three years ago has been found guilty.

The jury took three and a half days to reach their majority of 11 to 1 verdict.

This afternoon Herda was sentenced to life in prison.

Herda of Pairc na Saile, Emoclew Road in Arklow had denied the prosecution’s claim that she lured 31 Year Csaba Orsas to her car through a series of early morning phone calls on the morning of the 26th of March in 2013, before deliberately driving her vehicle into the sea off the South Quay in Arklow, knowing that he couldn’t swim.

She managed to escape from the car and swim to safety but Csaba’s body was found washed up on a beach two miles away later that day. However the jury agreed with the prosecution and have found her guilty in the last hour.
