We would like to thank everybody for the overwhelming support that we have received over the past few days. It is a credit to the people of Arklow and really shows how a community can come together in support of a cause that they believe in. We have seen so many good deeds done in the face of one bad deed which demonstrates what type of town Arklow is and what kind of community spirit we have here. Thanks to the Wicklow Cardiac First Responders (WWCFR) who have kindly installed a temporary replacement at very short notice and to Ken O’ Dwyer of Flashpoint Medical Systems, CFR.ie, the many other surrounding CFR groups including Bray and Ferns and the Mark Heffernan trust who offered their assistance.
We would especially like to thank everyone who has donated financially to help replace the defibrillator, ASL Safety and Training, Travers Insurance, Declan O’Brien and Simon Enwright of Leinster school of motoring, D Byrne construction, Autodel Sales & recovery specialists and of course Billy and Geraldine from Arklow 711 shop and everyone who made an individual donation.
We have been inundated with requests from individuals that would like to donate and as such we have included the details needed below to make a donation. At this point we have recovered the cost of the defibrillator, however it is the mission of the ACFR group to provide accessible defibrillators in Arklow wherever they are needed and all proceeds of donations go to the purchase, upkeep, awareness, and training on life saving equipment and techniques.
Our biggest and warmest thank you goes to the people of Arklow….with your support we can provide accessible defibrillators, with your interest we can provide public training, and with your vigilance your community defibrillators will remain unharmed…..
If you would like to make a donation, please do with our thanks to Account name: Arklow Community First Responders
