Carnew Camogie

Things are busying up in the camogie club, with our young ‘uns taking part in St Patrick’s Day parade on Friday with Carnew Ladies Football! Players to wear club colours – and have the craic!

Meanwhile, we’ve been invited to host a Fermanagh team for Feile na nGael in June. This means our U-14s will be taking part in Feile, so that’s something to look forward to! In the meantime, we will also participate in the Wicklow Feile qualifiers which will be held in the GAA Centre of Excellence on Good Friday.

This springtime  event will be held in conjunction with  the upcoming Wicklow Fleadh 2017 in Tinahely.  KARE is a voluntary organization which was founded in 1967 by parents and friends of people with an intellectual disability.

Fundraising is a vital source of additional income for KARE.  The Tinahely Local Service was established in 2003 and  ensures that individuals with intellectual disabilities, can avail of the service in their own community and as close to their home as possible. The catchment area includes Tinahely, Annacurra, Clonmore, Carnew, Shillelagh, Coolboy, Aughrim and Hacketstown.

A special thanks to  our local Tinahely branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann for generously making this fundraiser possible for KARE.  So bring your family, friends and neighbours along to enjoy the best of traditional music and culture.

There will be plenty of tea and coffee to go round as well as a selection of delicious home-made cakes and tasty sandwiches. Many thanks for your valued  support to KARE.   All are welcome.
