Parade will start at South Beach Car Park at 12:00 p.m.

Groups gather at 11:30 a.m.

Parade proceeds up Church Road to reviewing stand at St. Patrick’s Church.

Finishes at Church Road/Victoria Road.

 

Awards will be presented in the following category entries:

GREYSTONES CANCER SUPPORT DAFFODIL DAY COFFEE MORNING THIS FRIDAY

Presbyterian Hall,  Trafalgar Road;  10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

Greystones Cancer Support is your local community cancer support group.

It is completely separate from the Irish Cancer Society.

GCS runs this Coffee Morning each year in aid of Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day Fund.

Daffodil Day Fund supports night nursing and information centres in hospitals.

 

Daffodil Day items now on sale at Greystones Cancer Support.

Card notelets,  children’s activities packs, pens,  bags,  tea towels.

Vehicle of Interest:

On 2 March, 2017,  a local resident reported to Gardaí seeing a black BMW 3 series,

04 D 7***3 at Blacklion Manor,  Greystones.  Two males exited the car and walked around the back of the apartments.  These men got back into this car and drove out of the estate at speed with the lights off.

GREYSTONES DEMENTIA FRIENDS

Greystones Dementia Friends is a support group for carers of family with dementia.

Groups meets every Friday morning,  Burnaby Lounge,  11 am to 1 pm.

Everyone welcome to come along for a cuppa and a chat.

AGM and Showing of Radharc Films;  Thursday,  23 March, 2017.

Films include Westward Ho from Waterford and Ireland and the Making of Canada.

 

Films are particularly relevant this year.

2017 marks the 150th anniversary of the forming of the Dominion of Canada.

Formed from states of Nova Scotia,  New Brunswick and Canada (now Ontario + Quebec).

Hot Spot Music Club

David Rooney Band & Art Exhibition:  1916 Portrait & Lives

Upstairs @The Beach House,  Greystones Harbour Marina.

 

David Rooney with full band featuring songs from debut album,  Bound Together.

Also a display of David Rooney artwork.

 

David,  Kilmacanogue resident,  began recording album in January 2016.

This is his big launch.

David co-produced the album with some of Ireland’s finest musicians.

Conor Guilfoyle,  jazz drummer,  Baz Rycraft,  bassist.

Jay Wilson on piano and Ruba Shamshoum, vocalist.

Music draws from folk,  jazz and country,  all played with soul.

 

David is also better known at a visual artist & contributor to Irish Times and Hot Press.

Culture projects include BBCs The Story of Ireland,  Titanic Experience & Stonehenge.

 

Selection from 1916 Portraits and Lives will be on display at the concert.

Original portraits were exhibited in Kilmainham Gaol for 2016.

They will move soon to Pearse Museum in Rathfarnham.

Book was published by Royal Irish Academy.
