Pilates at the Brockagh                                                                                                                        

Marie Noonan is a qualified Pilate’s teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilitation, health and longevity.The duration of the class is seven weeks and will start at 9.15am to 10.15am and another class at and 10.15 to 11.15am. We Love Art                                                                                                                                       

Classes on Monday afternoons are for Primary school children. They are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. Classes are small, and divided by age group. In the classes we work with lots of different art and craft forms. Adult Art                                                                                                                                                  

This painting class will help you to find your own artistic style in your preferred medium. It is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters. Take up a new hobby or develop your skills and techniques in a friendly and informal group. Drama School                                                                                                                                      

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Elevation Dance School                                                                                                                           

Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style. Go to www.elevationschoolofperformingarts.com or contact Kate on 086 8256775 to find out more about her dance class. Afternoon Tea Dance                                                                                                                                          

Come along to the Brockagh Centre, Laragh and dance away the afternoon on Sunday 21st May, from 3pm to 6pm with music by The Wicklow Man. Refreshments will be provided. Groups must be booked in by calling 0404 45600 or emailing [email protected].

 

Holy Wells of Co.Wicklow Funraiser Walk                                                                                               

On Sunday 23rd of April join the group for a relaxing day visiting three Holy Wells in different locations in Co.Wicklow. Learn about the rituals and traditions of the Wells in pre-Christian and Christian traditions. Suggested donation of €10(It is possible to visit just one well and not all three). No dogs allowed.

 

Blessing of the Graves

Blessing of the graves will take place in Glendalough Graveyard, Glendalough on Saturday May 13th at 8pm. In the event of inclement weather prayers in St Kevins Church, Brockagh, Laragh immediately after 7.00pm Mass.

Integrated Energy Therapy Classes

Creative Local Heritage Project

This skill-sharing, multi-disciplinary, group community art project invites local residents, interest groups and other interested parties to use their skills and knowledge to create and design a collection of artwork for exhibition purposes. The group will examine the archaeology, history, environment, society and culture of Glendalough from a creative and artistic perspective. To find out more, come along to the Centre at 7pm on April 20th for the open evening hosted by the Community Education Service of Kildare Wicklow ETB.

 

Traditional Basket-making Workshop

This full-day, traditional basket-making workshop will teach you basic basketry techniques. Taught in a relaxed learning environment, you will bring home your own completed small round willow basket (a skib).
