St Patricks GAA Annual Golf Day
A beautiful day was had by all who took part in the St Patricks GAA Annual Golf Day in Wicklow Golf Club on Saturday 17th June. The Scramble 4 ball competition teed off at 9am.
The overall Winners were Gary Carthy, Tom Vickers, Mark Walsh and Stephen O’Brien. In second place Tom Murphy, Ger Murphy, Michael Doyle and Alan Hester. Third: Mark Kavanagh, Paul Furlong, Sean Liddy and Glen Malone. Fourth: Pat Stapleton, Mary Stapleton, Kieran Stapleton and Ciaran T. Doyle. Nearest the pin was won by Ciaran Doyle, The longest drive was won by Chris Bain while Valerie Brennan was successful in the Ladies longest drive.
The non GUI winners were: Ciaran Doyle, Donal Fitzgerald, Stephen Duffy and Aidan Small. It was great to see Keith Carty back playing sport, all in St Patricks wish him well for the future. On behalf of St Patricks GAA Club Treasurer James Phelan thanked Wicklow Golf Club and Captain Tony Michaels for all their assistance on the day and the ground staff who had the course in excellent condition.

It was not to be for the Wicklow County Camogie team in the Leinster Junior Final Replay against Offaly in Rathleague. Hard luck to our own dual stars Laura Manley and Erynn O’Brien.

The next generation of hurling stars were enjoying themselves at training on Wednesday night. Of course only 2 can grab the coveted player of the week awards! Up this week were Tommy Morrissey U7 and Leon Lawless U6 – well done boys
Congratulations to clubman Alan Smullen and his wife Niamh and daughter Cara who welcomed a new arrival Sophie to the Smullen family.
Well done to our U8 and U10 camogie girls who took part in the monster blitz at Ballinakill. Training continues every Thursday from 6.45pm to 7.45 at St. Pats NS.
A great evenings hurling took place between ourselves and Eire Og on Wednesday in Dunbur. We got the better of the div 1 fixture, and a strong finish from Eire Og saw them claim the spoils in div 2, after a gallant effort from our lads. Well done to all and see you for training on Monday next.
On Friday our junior ladies welcomed Eire Og to Dunbur on a fabulous sunny evening. Pat’s girls proved too strong for Eire Og and led at half time 4-08 to 0-05. The second half proved no different the girls put on an excellent display of football with the scoreline finishing 14-12 to 1-10.
Scorers: Sadbh Murphy Captain 4-03, Niamh Caffrey 4-01, Aimi Healy 2-03, Niamh McSorley 0-02, Saoirse O’Reilly 2-01, Sinead McGettigan 1-01, Aine Kavanagh 1-00 and Luci Hobbs 0-01.
Well done to Liam and Trina Keogh who surprised the u12’s with a trip to River valley activity park in Redcross for their training.
Have you got any used football boots/hurling helmets you are not using? The club would love them. They can be dropped into the gear shop every Saturday morning to help with the club gear exchange program.

Prices are €28 for sizes 0-6 thru’ 3-4, €30 for sizes 5-6 thru’ 10/11, €40 for size 13, €45 for all adult sizes.

St Patrick’s GAA Club are hosting a Fund-raising Ceili for the Martin family on the 23rd June 2017 at 9pm in the Clubhouse, Dunbur. Admission at the door will be €10. A raffle with lots of prizes will be held on the night.
It will be a regular Ceili with set-dancing and old-time waltzes and Music by a two-piece band. Please reserve a date in your diary!
