Camogie Final

On a lovely sunny Sunday morning, the Bray Emmets Adult Camogie Team lined out against Good Counsel in the Dublin Senior Camogie final. We knew this would not be an easy game having encountered Good Counsel earlier in the league. On that occasion they were the victors.
However, the Bray girls set out today with determination, courage and strength. Bray was first to score with a point from play but Good Counsel quickly countered. The play was intense but what really separated the two teams was the Bray girls ability to get goals and that left the scoreline at 3g 4p to 4 points at half time.

Now, you might say- that’s in the bag- but not with competition like Good Counsel. They never stopped trying and although it might sound like a cliché, the final score did not do justice to the effort put in by Good Counsel.

Róisín Quigley (Captain) – gave a rousing speech to the Bray team at half time and they all really rose to the challenge in all parts of the pitch in the second half. The girls played really well and every member of the panel put in really great performances. Passing, tackling, teamwork – all was on a superior level. Well done to Danny Eglinton, Paul Sweeney and Anne Carroll for all their work with the girls, it certainly showed on the day. This is  a superb group of young women and they really showed their mettle today .

Final score Bray Emmets 4 goals and 9 points – Good Counsel 1 goal and 6 points
