A music filled night in Arklow will close the summer long fundraising in memory of Raymond Gaffney at the end of the month. The now annual A Night For Ray will take place on Friday September 22nd in Christy’s Bar and Lounge on Arklow’s main street.
Playing on the night will be Those Lazy Babies, Black Cherry , Brian Lawlor and a few other surprises on the night.
A Night For Ray is the final event in a series of fundraisers in aid of The Bone Marrow For Leukaemia Trust in memory of Raymond Gaffney who passed away from the disease three years ago. The night follows a collection at the start of summer, a donation drive and the incredibly successful A Quiz For Ray last month in Dublin.
“People have been extremely generous again this year with our annual fundraising in Raymond’s name” said Raymond’s father Ray, “ It’s a difficult night for us but it’s for an important cause so we hope the people of Arklow continue to support the cause by packing out Christy’s on the 22nd. These are some of the best bands working today so it should be a great night” he added.
Tickets for A Night For Ray cost 10 euro and be bought at Raymond Gaffney & Sons on Main Street, Christy’s Lounge and on the door on the night.
