SPLIT THE POT

The winner of Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew  Split the Pot of 29th September was Leah Holmes winning €259, tickets on sale from the school and local businesses.

RACE NIGHT

There is a race night on 11th November in McCrea’s Carnew at 9pm, horses €10 available from any of the committee or local shops, all proceeds towards the Back Alley Community Project. All welcome.

BIRTH

Congratulations to Mark and Karen Collins, Tombreane on the birth of their son.

GOLF

Congratulations to Joe Dempsey and Ted Kennedy on winning the All Ireland Four Ball competition in Druids Glen Golf Club beating Cork in the final and Antrim in the semi final. Well done.

HURLING

Congratulations to the junior hurlers on winning their final recently in Ballinakill beating Bray by 0-14 to 1-5, with scores from John Kavanagh, Ian Clancy, Daire Foley, Jody Byrne, Jonathon Smyth and Cormac Doyle. well done to all involved, all players and trainers.

The Intermediate won their semi final against Arklow on Saturday 1-19 to 0-8 with scores from Don Hyland, Ian Clancy, Daire Foley, Cormac Doyle and Billy Rickerby, best of luck in the final.

The under 17’s won their final against Avondale Parnell’s 5-14 to 2-6 with scores from John Doyle, Adam Hughes, Paudie McGing, Eoin Kavanagh, Gavin Murray. Well done to all.

 TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday October 15, the walk will be at Avondale (Grade B/C, 12km, 3 hours) meeting in Rathdrum Car Park. On Sunday October 22, the walk will be at Derrybawn (Grade B, 12km, 4 hours) meeting details TBC. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. 
COOLBOY GAA JUVENILES

Coolboy Gaa Juveniles are holding their annual presentation evening on Friday 27th October from 6 – 6.30 in the Little Moon Coolboy, followed at 7pm by a Family Table Quiz which is open to all in the locality !Your support

as always is gratefully appreciated and ensures the future success of our juvenile club. We look forward to seeing you on the 27th.

CABARET

The annual cabaret for Tomacork church will be held on Friday 3rd November in the usual venue, all welcome.

COFFEE MORNING

Venie and Joan’s annual coffee morning will be held on Thursday 12th October from 9am – 2pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew in aid of South East Cancer Trust and the Palliative Care unit in Gorey District Hospital, donations of cakes welcome.

Halloween 2017 at Coolattin House

In an exciting joint venture between the Coolattin House Committee and the South Wicklow Drama Festival Committee Coolattin House will be open on Saturdayand Sunday

28th & 29th October, 2017 for halloween tours for both adults and children. Tours will take place for Children Age 6 years and upwards from 3 – 7 pm on Saturdayand Sunday.

The children’s guided tour of the house and grounds will include Story Telling, a Puppet Show and fun crafts will cost just €10.00 per person with

All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.

Adult Guided Tours will take place from 8.30 – 10.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday

All visitors will have an opportunity to check out the nooks and crannies and experience the hidden secrets of the house and to meet some of the fascinating characters who are coming along to bring the house to life for this one spooktacular weekend.

Adults will have an added extra on the Sunday night with Dracula’s Ball taking place from 10 till late on the Sunday night. We would encourage people to get into the spirit of the occasion and come to Dracula’s Ball in Fancy Dress, but of course this is purely optional. There will be a prize for the best dressed.

Copies of Paddy Behan’s memoirs “Part of this Place” are now available in Victor Young’s, Main Street, Carnew and from Paddy’s home in Corner House, Shillelagh.
Music Lessons  
Tinahely CCÉ offers traditional music and singing lessons to children of all ages. We teach tin whistle, flute, accordion, concertina, guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and bodhran in a very relaxed atmosphere. Classes take place every Friday evening in Coolfancy National School commencing at 6:30pm. The new term is now underway and you can join us any time. Call 087 6284848for further details.
