Musgraves have confirmed that it’s stores across the country has been subjected to a widespread cyber attack.
SuperValue, Centra and Daybreak stores have seen criminals attempting to steal debit and credit card numbers as well as expiry dates from customers.
Gardai are currently investigating the incident and Musgraves, which is one of Ireland’s largest food and retail companies has also notified the Office of the Data Protection Commission.
It is understood that while attempts were made to steal debit and credit card numbers, no atempts were made to steal the cardholders name, PIN number or CVV number.
A statement from the company said that they don’t believe that their was no evidence as of let of data being stolen.
However, as a precaution, they are advising customers to check their statements.
