2018 Wicklow GAA Championship Draw round-up

The draws for the County Wicklow GAA Championships took place in Ballinakill on Thursday night, with reigning senior football and hurling champions Rathnew and Glenealy learning their respective fates.

In the Renault Ireland senior football championship, Rathnew were drawn with Avondale, Kiltegan, Bray Emmets, Éire Óg and Hollywood in Group 2, while Blessington, Baltinglass, AGB Arklow, Annacurra, Newtown, St. Pat’s and newcomers Tomacork were drawn together in Group 1.

Meanwhile, in the Dacia Ireland senior hurling championship, defending champions Glenealy will face Carnew, St. Pat’s, Éire Óg, Kiltegan and Bray Emmets, under new manager Paul Carley, in a round-robin with the top two teams entering a semi-final while the remaining four will compete in a pair of quarter finals.

In the pick of the junior championship draws, neighbours St. Pat’s and Rathnew were drawn together in the Boom and Platform Hire Junior A Football Championship alongside Kilcoole and Aughrim.

Hurling:

Junior Hurling Championship: Barndarrig – Bray Emmets – Carney Emmets – Glenealy – St. Pat’s – Éire Óg.

Format – Played on a league basis with top two in A final, team 3 and 4 in B final and the C final for team 5 and 6.

IHC: The Rocks Arklow – Glenealy – Avondale – Kiltegan –  Carnew Emmets – Kilcoole – St. Pat’s.

Format – Top two in semi-final and two quarter finals for next four teams.
