Set Dancing

Set dancing class resumes this Thursday January 11th in the Community hall at 8.30pm after the Christmas break. Paddy and Yvonne are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and hopefully a few new faces. Beginners very welcome.

Community Games

Happy New Year to everyone Community games will be up and running now for 2018.  Our athletics training is back Monday January 15th 7-8 with membership now due for adults and children in Athletics Ireland.  Our other events Art and Handwriting will be circulated shortly as our First National Festival weekend is in May.  County finals for Swimming gymnastics and Quiz will take place in March. Talent and art in April.  Team Event’s final will be played by end of February. More information to follow. Any enquiries please contact me Fiona Shannon on 087 2218366.

Juvenile GAA Christmas raffle

The Aughrim Juvenile Club  ran a very successful Christmas raffle recently. We would like to thank everyone who sponsored prizes and especially Eoin O’ Connor who put up first prize. we would like to thank all the people who sold tickets and all those who purchased tickets from near and far. All funds raised go directly in to promoting GAA in our local village. Juvenile Presentation night & Disco

Aughrim Juvenile club will hold a presentation evening on Saturday January 13th to celebrate a very successful year. Go Games medals will be presented to the U5, U7 & U9 football and hurling teams,  Mini Festival Final medals will be presented to the U11 football and hurling teams and Championship medals will be presented to the U13 football team. This will be followed by a disco for boys and girls from U5 to U13, All children in the community are invited along to listen to the presentation speeches and join in the disco afterwards. So Saturday January 13th from 5.30pm to 7.30pm in the Community Hall ( beside Londis). We hope to see loads of kids at this free event.

Indoor Tennis Lessons

Indoor Tennis Lessons every Monday at Aughrim‘s Sports Complex A New Adult course starting January 15th and running for 6 weeks limited to 8 people… but Just 2 place left.  Some previous playing/experience may help, but not totally essential.. Please text or call David Sheehan 0878166525, registered Tennis professional if you are interested in a place. The course is 6 week long at costs 60 eu pp. All equipment is provided.  Kids classes for 2nd to 6th class primary school kids runs every Monday afternoon from 4.30-5.30pm.. No experience necessary. Again pleases text or Call David to check if theres availability. The 6 week junior course costs €45  pp. or (€85  for 2 children same parent )

Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes in Aughrim

Learn gentle flowing healing movements that relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility.  Beginners Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes every Wednesday evening from 7 – 8 pm &  Friday Mornings 10 – 11 am @ Aughrim Sports & Leisure Complex.  Cost € 80 for a block of 8 classes.  For enquiries or to book a place call Ann Martin 087/6081219. Active Retirement

Welcome back to all our members after the Christmas break.  This year marks the 10th anniversary of the formation of our group, Aughrim and District Active Retirement, so the committee have been busy considering ideas to celebrate this special year. A few are already in the pipeline.  Our AGM will be held at our February meeting, so please return voting papers to Margaret or any committee member in advance of the meeting.  Chair Yoga will resume on Tuesday February 16th. Those interested are requested to bring €15 in a signed envelope.,

Lotto

The numbers: 22, 23, 25 and 28 were drawn in the sports club lotto on Tuesday last January 2nd . There was one match three winner: The jackpot was not won. The jackpot is €4200.

Market

We will be back on Saturday January 13th after the Christmas break and look forward to seeing you then.
Aughrim Town & Country Market, at the Pavilion, Rednagh Road, takes place from 10am – 2pm on Saturdays where you can enjoy a cuppa with friends and avail of fresh local produce.
