Carnew and District Agricultural Show Society  are holding a table quiz on Friday 2nd February at 8.30pm in Kenny’s Corner House, Carnew, €40 per table of four. Your support would be appreciated.

GAA LOTTO

Carnew GAA lotto was not won, numbers were 2,8,16,31, lucky dips were Mark Kennedy, c/o M. Hall. Mammy Carter, Tinahely. Chloe Collins, c/o Spanks. Wayne Austin. The next draw was 15th January and the jackpot was €9,600.

On Sunday January 21 the walk is Coolmeelagh Loop. Grade B/C, 12k, 3 hours, meeting at Carnew Mart 10.00. On Jan 28 the walk is at Kaideen. Grade B, 10km, 3 hours. Meeting in Tinahely at 10.00. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

CRAFT CLASSES

Carnew ladies craft classes will resume on 17th January from 7-9pm for 8 weeks costing €30, in the meeting room on the Main Street, Carnew over the butchers shop, all welcome. Anyone who is interested or would like more information contact Eileen on 0862584616.

The next bingo is on 28th January at 2.30pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew, all welcome.

SHEEP BREEDERS BOOK

Aughrim Sheep Breeders are celebrating 50 years, 1968 – 2017 and have launched a book to mark the occasion, the book is on sale from any of the committee or in Victor Young’s, Main Street, Carnew at €15.

ASKAMORE MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA

Stephen Murphy will be the headline act for a musical Extravaganza in Askamore Community Centre on Thursday 18th January at 7.30pm. The show will consist of one half of local talent, while Stephen who is perhaps one of Wexford’s most versatile musician will perform in the second half. Tickets are €10 for adults and  €5 for children. This venture is being hosted by Askamore Community Council as a Lip Sync fundraiser. More information from Sean on 0872898805 or Brian 0872996817.

CHAIR AND FLOOR YOGA
Chair and floor yoga with Siobhan Rice will commence from Tuesday January 23rd for 10 weeks. Chair yoga 10am – 11am, floor yoga 11.15 am – 12.15 pm. There will be a small fee for each class. If you would like to attend please contact the Day Centre Carnew on 0539426510 ext 1.
