Wicklow’s Niall O’Connor has hung up his radio headphones and put down his journalistic pen for the final time.
Niall today presented his last ‘Wicklow This Week’ programme on East Coast FM as he embarks on a new career.
He will also be leaving the Irish Independent, where he served as political correspondent based in Leinster House.
Niall (28), who hails from Wicklow town, described presenting of ‘Wicklow This Week’ as an immense privilege.
He thanked the people of Wicklow for their support and company each Saturday morning.
The show has seen an increase in listenership since Niall took over the reins in 2016.
Among the guests for his final show were Health Minister Simon Harris and editor of Wicklownews.net. Michael Kelly.
Niall will shortly take up a new role as a media advisor.
