St. Gerard’s handed tough draw in the quarter finals of the Leinster Schools Cup

St. Gerard’s have been drawn to play against Blackrock College away from home in the quarter finals of the Leinster Schools Senior Cup.

The Bray school side and league champions progressed from the first round on Thursday after beating St. Fintan’s 23-7.

Meanwhile, Blackrock got to the final of the competition last year and qualified for the quarter finals this time round with a comfortable 46-20 win against Castleknock College in Donnybrook back in January.

Elsewhere, Newbridge College have been rewarded for their 36-0 win over Presentation College in the first round with a quarter final clash away to reigning champions Belvedere, who beat Gonzago College 11-10 to advance.

Cistercian College, who beat Wesley College 22-19 on Friday, have been drawn against St. Mary’s who advanced against St. Andrews 29-18 on the same day.

Finally, St. Michael’s will host Clongowes Wood College. Michael’s beat Terenure College 25-13 in January to qualify while Clongowes defeated The King’s Hospital 29-21 at on Thursday.
