Arklow Feis

Congratulations to the boys and girls in in Ms. McLean’s class who won the William Doyle Memorial Cup at the Arklow Musical Festival on Monday last, April 23rd.  Congratulations to their teacher for all her hard work and encouragement.  Thanks also to Ms. Lorna Maher who accompanied them on the accordion.

 

Field Day

Annacurra Parish

 

The Field Day will take place on Sunday, June 17th at 2.00pm in the GAA pitch. We hope to have all the usual attractions, stalls and events.

 

If those who help running the Field Day would get in touch with Fr. Sheridan or a member of the Parish Council in the next few weeks.  New volunteers are always welcome and would be very much appreciated.

 Whist Drive

There will be a whist drive in Annacuura Community Hall on Saturday night  next May 5 starting at 9pm

 

Blue Star Programme and Europe Day

 

The children from 5th and 6th class have been involved in the Blue Star Programme and are applying for a Europe Flag for our school. They have been learning about the important work of the EU and recognising the solidarity that exits among European citizens. They have studied and produced displays and projects on famous European artists, scientists, politicians and businessmen. They will be showcasing their work on Thursday 3rd May in the school P.E. Hall. They have invited politicians, councillors and M.E.P’s to attend. They will engage in “A handshake for Europe” to demonstrate and recognise the solidarity that exits among European citizens.

We invite you to attend from 10.00am to 11.00am or alternatively from 1.00pm to 2.00pm on Thursday 3rd of May to join with us in celebrating Europe Day and to participate in our Handshake For Europe. Refreshments will also be served.

 

Knock Pilgrimage.

Kilaveney Parish Annual Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July.  A bus will depart from Tinahely on Saturday 30th June at 9a.m.   We will stop for a coffee break on the journey to Knock.  There will be an evening meal with bed and breakfast in the Knock House Hotel. The bus will depart from Knock on Sunday 1st July at 4p.m.

 

The cost of the bus and hotel will be based on the number of people travelling. Bookings and more information: Tel: 086 8700843. The final date for booking will be Friday 11th May. All are welcome to participate in this pilgrimage and encouraged to join in prayer as we honour Our Lady of Knock. Members of Parishes in the surrounding areas are also welcome.
