Ballyellis National School “Split the Pot”

Friday 14th September  winner of   “Split the Pot” is Patrick McKay  winning €171.   We thank everyone for supporting “Split the Pot”. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any Parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Masses in Askamore Church.. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Congratulations to Paddy and Lil Behan, Shillelagh who celebrate their 6oth wedding anniversary.

 

ALL IRELAND PLOUGHING

Good luck to all competitors competing in the ALL Ireland Ploughing championships this week especially Tom Donnelly, Leslie Hambridge and Tommy Pierce from the Carnew club.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

Details of Tinahely Walking Club walks for the next two weeks: Sunday Sept 23, Luggala, B, 12km, 4 hours. Meet at Tinahely 10.00. Sunday Sept 30, Vartry Resevoir, A, 20km, 5 hours. Meet at Tinahely 9.45 or Roundwood 10.30. As usual, please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

 

CHARITY RIDE OUT

Kiltegan and Humewood Castle charity ride out in aid of Carnew Community Day Care and village and West Wicklow Day Care Baltinglass on Sunday 30th September 10am, last ride will depart at 12.30pm, supported by Shillelagh District Hunt. This is guaranteed to be a great ride out around Homewood Castle and foothills of Wicklow and supporting a good cause. Refreshments and photos on the day, suitable for all ages and abilities, adults €25 children €15, all fences optional, for more information contact Kieran 0879947918.

The next bingo in Carnew is on Sunday 23rd September at 2.30pm, all welcome.

 

COFFEE MORNING AND CAKE SALE

A coffee morning and cake sale will be held on Thursday 20th September from 9 am to 10pm in Ailish Little’s house in Donishal, all welcome, all moneies raised locally stays local.

 

FIRST RESPONDERS

Training for new responders will take place in October, if you have some spare time and would like to join the group and be trained to learn to do CPR, Administer asprin and use an AED please contact 0872413293.

 

KNOCK

The pilgrimage to knock from Carnew is on Saturday 29th September and return on 30th September, the bus will leave Carnew chapel at 7.30am, Gorey 8 am, if interested please contact Marie on 0539426646 or 0872323966.
