The recent plan to close 159 post offices around Ireland will be discussed in the Oireachtas today.
Minister for communications, Denis Naughten, will answers questions in the Oireachtas relating to a deal between An Post and The Postmasters’ Union that will see the closure of 159 rural post offices.
The deal has garnered much controversy and the closure of the post offices has been met with nationwide backlash.
Two post offices in Co.Wicklow were among the 159 around the country to be closed, one in Coolboy and one in Donard.
Sinn Fein’s John Brady organized a meeting in the Donard Community Hall last week to discuss the closure of Donard’s post office.
