Time Table for Harvest Festival
Everyone is invited to attend our Dunlavin Flower – Harvest Festival.
Venues: St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Dunlavin & St. Nicholas Church of Ireland, Dunlavin.
12th Oct: St Nicholas Church Of Ireland – Harvest Service at 7.30pm. Followed by tea & coffee.
12th Oct: Judging in both Churches will take place on Friday afternoon, all arrangements need to be in place by 1.00pm on Friday, as the Churches will close to prepare for judging.
13th & 14th Oct: Both Churches will be open for visitation to view the arrangements on display.
St. Nicholas Church of Ireland – Saturday – 11.00am to 5.00pm
Sunday – 12.00 Noon to 6.00pm.
St. Nicholas of Myra – Saturday – 9.30am to 9.00pm
Sunday – 9.30am to 6.00pm.
Judging of local business’s windows or displays in premises will take place on Thursday 11th, displays should be ready by 4.00pm.
14st October: Closing Harvest Service St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church at 3.00pm. Followed by tea and coffee.
Chris Lawlor’s book ‘With Much Quiet Fervour’ will be launched during the Harvest Festival.
Dunlavin & District Forum will hold a Race Night in aid of the Christmas Lights upgrade on October 19th in Burkes Bar at 9pm. Horses are €10 each from committee members. All support greatly appreciated.

Meals on Wheels Fundraiser
Donard/Dunlavin meals on wheels art hosting a fundraiser in Rathsallagh Golf Club on October 20th at 8pm. The evening will feature Andrew Deering with his award winning play Dear Attracta..
Cork’s favourite agony aunt Attracta Tension comes to Rathsallagh Golf Club for one night only. Hold on to your hats as she dispenses her no-nonsense advice (how to put smacht on your neighbours’ children, the best reaction when somebody tells you to smile) and regales you with very important stories about her formative years. She’ll even throw in a few songs!

Dunlavin CommunityFirstResponders– are looking to recruit new members to join our team of Responders. You don’t need to have any first aid skills as full training will be given. All we require is that you be 18+, have your own transport, be available to attend monthly training sessions and commit some time to a rota. Initial training will take place on Saturday 20th October. The Folk Group – is starting back after summer. We’re at noon mass on the 2nd Sunday of the month & 10am mass on the 4th Sunday of the month. We’re always open to new members We practice after mass, you don’t need to be able to read music to join in the singing and there’s no pressure to attend every time.
