Sinn Féin TD for Wicklow John Brady has welcomed news that MDY Construction will now progress with the development of 42 social houses at Kilbride Lane in Bray. Work on the housing project stopped in September after the developers encountered financial difficulties.
Teachta Brady said:
“I welcome news today that the green light has been given for work to recommence on the badly needed homes in Kilbride Lane in Bray. Work on the project stopped suddenly in September after the developers encountered financial difficulties. MDY Construction Limited exited the Examinership process on 15th November 2018 when the High Court approved the Scheme of Arrangements proposed by the appointed Examiner.”
“I am aware that Wicklow County Council is awaiting further detailed information from MDY on a number of outstanding matters in relation to the development including a copy of the programme of works to be completed. It is hoped that the developers will be back on site by the 10th December.”
“While, it is welcome news that this development will progress, the payment of sub-contractors is crucial as we move on to provide much needed homes in Bray. I now hope that this project will commence as quickly as possible to provide the badly needed homes.”
