Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD has confirmed that the funding to operate the Wicklow Hospice has now been allocated and the development is progressing well.
Wicklow TD Minister Simon Harris has this week confirmed that the revenue funding, the funding to operate the hospice, has now been put in place to allow the Hospice begin working.
Minister Harris said:
“The people of Co Wicklow have worked very hard to fundraise and support efforts to build a purpose built hospice in our County for many years. It was an honour to officially turn the sod of the Wicklow Hospice build in 2018 and I have visited the site on a number of occasions since to discuss progress. I am pleased to confirm that we are on target to open by the end of this year as planned.”
“I was really pleased to work with the Wicklow Hospice Foundation to secure an extra €1.25 million in capital funding from my Department to allow the build to get under way and I am really pleased that this is now progressing well. Today I am delighted to confirm that the necessary revenue funding has been put in place to allow the hospice to start working. Putting the funding in place now is key to ensuring the hospice as a whole is ready to open when the building work is complete.”
“It has been my absolute privilege to work with the dedicated team at the Wicklow Hospice foundation throughout this journey and I very much look forward to finally getting this important service open for our community,
