Bagatelle guitarist John O’Brien passes away

The death of founding member of the Irish pop group Bagatelle John O’Brien was announced over the weekend.

Guitarist John formed the band along with Liam Reilly, Ken Doyle and Wally McConville in 1978.

The group went on to have a string of hits including Summer in Dublin, Trump Card  and Second Violin.

John penned 4 of the 10 tracks on the groups debut album.

Originally from Bray John spent a number of years living in Barniskey close to Red Cross.

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Fanagan’s Funeral Home Aungier Street. A Humanist service to celebrate John’s life will take place on Tuesday April 30th at 3.00 pm in the Victorian Chapel at Mount Jerome Cemetery, followed by cremation.
