Wicklow TD Minister Simon Harris has confirmed that the Government has allocated €33,984,442 to Wicklow County Council for the rapid delivery of 124 new homes for Co Wicklow in the past week.
Four house building schemes have been approved in Bray, Wicklow, and Rathdrum will deliver 124 new homes to Co Wicklow. The funding is to be allocated from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government to Wicklow County Council for the rapid delivery of social housing.
Minister Harris said:
“In just this past week, this Government has approved 4 important social housing build schemes in Co Wicklow that will deliver 124 homes. This is very welcome progress as it will allow make a significant impact on our local housing demand. The €34 million investment has been allocated to Wicklow County Council to ensure the projects move forward quickly.”
– 20 homes will be delivered in phase 2 of Avondale Heights, Rathdrum
– 40 homes will be provided at Ashtown Lane, Wicklow Town
– 31 homes will be delivered at Ard na Greine, Bray
– 33 homes will be delivered at Bollarney Woods, Wicklow Town.
Minister Harris continued;
“This week’s announcements demonstrate this Government’s commitment to the delivery of more social housing and in turn, reducing the pressure on our Co Wicklow housing market. This multi-million Euro allocation to Wicklow County Council is key to the construction of new homes for the County. I will continue to work with Chief Executive Frank Curran and my Government colleagues to ensure our County continues to receive the necessary funding for growth and development.”
