EAST COAST COFFEE MORNING

Don’t forget the East Coast fm Wicklow wide coffee morning takes place on this Friday 12th of April from 9am to 1 pm in Vartry House Roundwood (Kavanaghs).   Special guests this year are Leslie Dowdall and Jim O’Neill.  Proceeds from all the coffee mornings around Wicklow will go to the seven Cancer support centres in the County and also to Wicklow Hospice. Lots of prizes on the day & refreshments.

St. Laurence O’Toole National School in Roundwood is open for enrolments for pupils starting school in September, 2019. Please contact the office at 01 2818399 for an enrolment form

 

CAR BOOT SALE

The Roundwood Car Boot sale returns on Sunday 26th May and every fourth Sunday of the month thereafter. Set up of stalls from 9a.m., Cars €10, Jeep/Van €15.

 

VINTAGE TRACTOR CAR RUN

Annamoe centre will hold their vintage tractor car run will be on the 14th April at 12 o’clock looking forward to a great day

 

PROGRESSIVE 45 CARD GAME

There will be a progressive 45 card game on Sunday 14th April in Roundwood Parish Hall at 7pm excellent prize money, raffle and refreshments at the break, everyone welcome.

 

AUCTION

There will be an auction of household furniture on Sunday 14th April in the Parish Centre after 11.30a.m mass. Viewing from 12pm, auction at 1pm All proceeds will go to The Roundwood Cancer Support Group.

 

LUNCH CLUB

The next Active Retirement lunch will be held in The Roundwood Inn on Friday 26th April at 1.30pm

 

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB.

Mary Pierce & Pamela Byrne were certainly not April Fools on Monday 1st April they took 1st place for North/South 2nd Phil Power & Gertie Fee, 3rd Margaret Bolger & Ger Lenihan and 4th Seamus Kennedy & Gaye McGettigan.  1st for East/West were Brid Clancy & Bridie Nolan, 2nd Marion Davis & Teresa Leahy, 3rd Monica Brady & Nancy O Brien and 4th Judy Skates & Maria Magee

 

002 BRIDGE CLUB.

Monica Brady & June Digby played their cards right on Friday 5th April and took 1st place for North/South, 2nd Liz Belton & Phil Kenna and 3rd Margaret Byrne and Triona Woodroofe.   Marian Davis & Teresa Leahy took 1st place for East/West, 2nd Kitty Heslin & Miriam Coyle and 3rd Gertie Fee & Jane Cronin.

 

MURAL ART PROJECT

Roundwood and District Community Council with the support of Kildare Wicklow Education Training Board are running an 8 week mural art project for adults in Roundwood starting in late March. ANGEL HEALING

MENS SHED

The Shed continues every Tuesday between 10 and 12 in our Shed within a Shed at Pat Carr’s place in Knockraheen. The topics are wide and varied and we continue to participate in a growing list of activities.

 

MARKET RE-OPENING

SET DANCING

Our weekly set dancing sessions continue in Kavanagh’s Lounge All are always welcome – whether you have ever or never danced before…. Session starts at 8.30 til 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a good night of exercise.

 

TRIPS

There will be a pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday 27th April leaving Laragh at 7.45am & at Roundwood 8a.m. The cost is €65 per person and includes, bus, breakfast and dinner. All money to be paid by 1st April to Susan at 087 6273032. There will be a trip to Lourdes from 27th – 31stMay and three seats left for May 20th – 24th. Six places from 19th – 26th July for seven days full board, no single supplement at a cost of €585 & transport from airport to Lourdes. Own insurance, baggage of 10kg included. A €150 deposit to Susan O’Neill at 087 6273032 as soon as possible. There will be a tour of Scotland from the 26th to the 31st July for six days. Included are The Highlands of Scotland and The Orkney Isles, Perth, Thurso, Inverness, Lock Lomond, Lock Ness and Glencoe and many more places at a cost of €750 per person all in. A deposit of €200 is required on or before the 1st April with single supplement of €100 to Susan at 087 6273032. The Westport Country break takes place from 20th to 25th October at a cost of €425. UNWANTED LAPTOPS

CoderDojo Roundwood are looking for any unwanted laptops for use in our local Dojo (computer club). Any laptops donated, no matter what make or age, will be wiped clean of any data thereon and will be reprogrammed to allow children who may not have access to a laptop learn a new skill in this fun environment.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated. COMPUTER CODING CLUB

CoderDojo is a global volunteer led community of free programming clubs for young people. Young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology. ROUNDWOOD CANCER SUPPORT

The Roundwood Cancer Support centre is now up and running and is open in the Parish Centre on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10a.m until 1pm. PERSONAL ALARMS

The Roundwood and District Community Council are registered to administer the senior alert scheme which provides grants to elderly people towards the provision of personal alarms. The personal alarm offers reassurance to allow independent living, safe in the knowledge that you can quickly be in contact with a family member or neighbour in the event of an emergency. Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7pm every Wednesday at the Coach House car park.  All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately one hour.

 

ANGEL HEALING
