Summer looks like it is finally about to arrive with Met Eireann predicting high temperatures of 20 degrees this week, leaving behind the unseasonable wet and cold weather we have been experiencing so far this June.
However, while the temperatures are likely to be high, there will likely be some cloud cover meaning the sun won’t always be visible.
Tuesday will be a bright and dry day, with a possibility of some heavy showers in Munster and Connaught.
Wednesday will begin with bright and sunny spells in the south and east of the country, but there will be a risk of heavy thundery downpours as the day progresses.
The outlook beyond Wednesday is unsettled, but temperatures will remain seasonal, ranging from 15-20 degrees.
