Arklow Lions Club has teamed up with Arklow Town FC, Arklow Celtic FC, Arklow United FC, Arklow Rock Parnell’s, Arklow Geraldine’s, and RNLI Arklow in a joint Movember Arklow campaign to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society, and are hoping that other groups and members of the local community will also join in.
Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Ireland and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer.
On Movember 1st, guys register with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo growing efforts.
Moustache growing season officially opens on the 1st of November and anyone wishing to join the ‘Movember Arklow’ team can register online at ie.movember.com/team/481041 or contact Patrick G Byrne 086 2527685, Kevin Fitzgerald 086 0808609, Match O Reilly 086 3698908, Danny O Reilly 086 8690805 or Cormac O’ Toole 086 0706972 for sponsorship cards.
