Despite the weather, Wicklow Town Mayor Malcolm Earls welcomed a crowd of over 40 people to the ‘Mayor’s Walk’ last Sunday.
Starting at Wicklow Gaol, John Finlay led the group on a fascinating historic tour through the town which included stops at the Courthouse, Town Hall, Main Street, Fitzwilliam Square and the Abbey Grounds.
“It’s fantastic to see so many people, young and old, here today to appreciate Wicklow Town’s rich and vibrant heritage,” Mr Earls said. “I would like to thank John [Finlay] and further highlight the important role that the Wicklow Historical Society plays in keeping our past alive.”
The group finished the walk at The Grand Hotel where Wicklow Town Council kindly provided Tea and Coffee for all.
