Wicklow band Big September will play their hit single, The Preacher, on tonight’s Late Late Show.
The five-piece from Bray will join Ryan Tubridy on a star-studded line-up that includes Colin Farrell, Brian O’Driscoll and Steve Coogan.
The appearance on the Late Late is the latest step on a meteoric rise for Big September which has seen them signed by promoters MCD to headline Dublin’s Academy in December after a successful nationwide summer tour.
“This is great news for the lads,” says Big September manager Ian Donnelly. “They’ve worked really recently and things are starting to take off for them.
“They’ve just completed some new tracks and they are phenomenal. Not every band gets to play the Late Late.
Big September are singer/frontman Scott O’Neill; Graham “Naylor” O’Neill bass/songwriter; Dan Smith drummer; Cillian Duane lead guitarist; and Dave Butler rhythm guitarist/ vocals.
They describe themselves as a good old indie rock band with influences such as The Beatles, Oasis, The Clash, The Jam, The Rolling Stones, The Band, Ocean Colour Scene, Kings of Leon, The National, Mark Knopfler, Johnny Marr, Eric Clapton and Neil Young.
