Wicklow defender Ciaran Hyland is set to become a pin up all in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Ciaran lost his brother Cathal to the dreaded disease and his mother Anne is a committee member in the Arklow Cancer Support Group.

Ciaran along with other prison officers decided they would produce a calender in aid of the Irish Cancer society.

It will have officers from the ages of mid 20s to late 40s with years of prison service experience between them all.

The reason the lads are putting their bodies on the lines are because they hope to raise much needed funds for Irish Cancer Society because Cancer has effected a lot of friends family and our working family….

Originally the officers had hoped to print around 300 copies but following massive media interest in the project it is thought it will now be thousands, Ciaran told Wicklownews.net “Shops in Arklow have asked could they sell copies and of course they will be available on line.”

A launch party is planned for early December. Stay tuned for updates.
