Glendalough Trail Run

The Glendalough Trail run (or you can walk or jog) is a 15.5km course which takes place on Saturday 9 November with registration at the Brockagh Centre.

The Glendalough Trail is a fantastic running experience with a route that is scenic, challenging and safe. Not only will it be a fun, enjoyable day but we hope to raise much needed funds for Fighting Blindness.

St. Kevin’s Parish

Mass of Remembrance. Our annual Mass for those who died during the year will take place at 7 pm on Saturday 9th November. All families and friends of those who passed away are very welcome.


Happy Days First Aid

Happy Days Carer & Toddler Group will hold an information morning on first aid for young children at 10.30a.m. on Wednesday 20 November. Cost 3 euro all welcome (with children).


Tidy Towns

There will be a Tidy Towns meeting in the Brockagh Centre on Thursday 14 November at 9 p.m. Anyone interested just come along on the night.


Sewing & Making Workshops

Would you like to learn basic hand or machine-sewing techniques? Are you interested in learning how to make simple clothes, how to follow a pattern or how to make children’s clothing? Or would you like to make soft furnishings such as cushions, seat covers, tablecloths, roman blinds and machine-finished curtains? You would need your own sewing machine. If you have an interest call the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600.

Get Yourself On Line

The last Get Yourself Online for 2013 (funding due to expire) will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. from Tuesday 12 November. This course offers to help those with little experience of the internet. It is an easy step -by-step course where you will discover: email attachments, search engines, on-line transactions such as motor tax, podcasts, on-line safety and security, skype, on-line banking, buying on line. This is a free course for those over 65 and cost 10 euro to those under 65 (a contribution towards tea/coffee will be required). Those who have done our previous Get Yourself on Line are not eligible to get funding for this course but can pay a fee of 25 euro if they wish to take part. Glendalough Country Market & Gift Fair

Our next markets are the Christmas markets which will take place on Sundays 8 and 15 December. Lots of hand-made and unique Christmas gifts to buy; Home baking, Jams & Chutneys, Christmas Puddings & Cakes, Jewellery, Novelty Bird Tables, Hand knits, Fairy Doors, Aloe Vera, Candles, Christmas Wreathes, Glass & Pottery, Plants and much, much more. Gifts from as little as 5 euro. These are always very popular markets which are usually completely booked out very quickly. Please book as soon as possible in order to secure your place. Paediatric First-Aid Courses

The Brockagh Centre is offering two paediatric first-aid courses which will go ahead if enough people sign-up. Irish Heart Foundation certified course in paediatric first-aid from 10 am to 5 pm on a Saturday 16 November at a cost of€50 (paid in advance). Participants must bring their own lunch.

Fetac Level-5 paediatric first-aid course on one evening and two full days for €195 – some people have already signed-up for this but not enough to run a course. For further details about any of these courses please contact Pat on 045-866117 or 086-8210349 or email patreid@esatclear.ie.

The Wicklow Man is back to his usual Tuesday night slot in the Brockagh Centre from 9.30 p.m.

AA Meetings

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre in Laragh at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night. If you think that you may have a problem with alcohol please come along.
