The RNLI are pleading with the public to keep away from cliffs, piers and coastal areas today as high winds are forecast.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said “People are fascinated with the sea during storms but forget how powerful a wave can be, we are just urging people to be careful and if you want to watch the waves do so from a safe distance.”
Tonight, there will be further showers, most of them in west Munster, Connacht and Ulster, with a continuing risk of thunder, mainly in coastal areas. Good clear spells further east. Strong west to northwest winds will gradually back westerly and slowly ease. Minimum temperatures 2 to 6 Celsius.
