There was no Match 4 winner of the Club Lotto on Friday, 29th November when the numbers drawn were 1, 13, 23 and 25 so next week, the jackpot goes up to €5,500. What a great Christmas present that would be! Jackie Napier was the name drawn in the Lucky Dip and will receive €25. As always, we encourage members to register to play online or to promote the Club Lotto to others. Further details are available at www.brayemmets.com.

Larry Walsh Tournament / Club Christmas Party

This Saturday, 7th December, promises to be a great day out as we host both the Larry Walsh Football Tournament and the Club Christmas Party. Four teams made up from our Senior, Junior and Minor Footballers will compete in the Larry Walsh Tournament which kicks off at 3.00 p.m. at Páirc Emmet Bhré. As well as the Cup, local bragging rights will be at stake as squads from Little Bray, Ardmore/Charnwood, Southern Cross and The Seafront face off to see who will be crowned kingpins of Bray football! Due to popular demand, an Over-35’s match will also be played where some of the Club’s legends will take to the field one more time. This will be a great opportunity for our Juvenile members to watch their Coaches strut their stuff on the pitch so plenty of fun is guaranteed! More details are available from Brian O’Keeffe (086-6013863).

As well as the entertainment on the pitch, the tournament coincides with our end of year Christmas get-together for all Bray Emmets Mentors, Players and non-playing Adult Members at 8.00 p.m. in the Clubhouse. Members from all sections of the Club, from the Academy Section right through to the Adult Teams are invited to come along and enjoy the festivities.

Academy

Parents are asked to note that the Academy will finish on Saturday, 14th December for the Christmas break. Activities will resume in the New Year on Saturday, 1st February. Also, Congratulations to Sophie Connolly, one of our Academy Leaders, who has been chosen to represent Loreto Secondary School and her hometown of Bray in Strasbourg after she won Bray Rotary Club’s Youth Leadership competition.

Under-7 Teams

The Under-7 Boys and Girls took part in a blitz of both hurling and football in Cuala on Saturday, 30th November. On the day, three Clubs took part; Castleknock, Cuala our hosts and Bray Emmets. We entered two sides (a Blue Team and a Green Team) with both squads playing three matches in hurling and three in football. This was the first time these young players have represented the Club in games outside Páirc Emmet Bhré and there were great performances, skill and determination shown by all. The future is bright so well done to all the players on a marvellous morning of games and also a word of thanks to our supporters. The squad on the day was Emily, Ella, Conor, Rory, Robert, Ruban, Mickel, Jack, Gregory, Donnacha, Eanna, Josh, Charlie, Austin, Finn, Jamie.

Scór na nÓg 2013

The Scór na nÓg competition was held in Roundwood on Friday, 29th November. Proudly representing Bray Emmets on the night were three musical groups, all of whom are members of Bray Comhaltas that practice weekly in Coláiste Ráithín:

Grúpa 1: Rachel Ní Chuilinn, Sadhbh Ní Bhroin, Niamh Nic Siomóin, Matthew Booth, Sadhbh Dodd.

Grúpa 2: David Nesbitt, Bróna Ní Mhurchú, Oisín Drury, Eoin MacSiomóin, Sammy Butler.

Grúpa 3: Eoin MacThomáis, Rian MacMaoláin, Elena Ní Chéidigh Hayes, Brian Nesbitt, Mark O Cuilinn.

Oisín Drury, David and Brian Nesbitt, Eoin Fitzsimons and Bróna Murphy were all successful on the night and qualified for the Leinster Scór on 15th December. We are very fortunate to have so much talent in the Club. Comhghairdeas mór leo ar fad.
