Many thanks to to all our traders and everybody who supported our Christmas Fairs over the past two Sundays. There was a great buzz all day long with people coming and going enjoying mince pies, mulled wine and soaking up the atmosphere. We were delighted to welcome Santa who was making sure that his reindeer were well rested for the ‘big night’ by arriving by horse and carriage. Many thanks to Margaret, Tony, Timmy and all their helpers who decorated Santa’s carriage and helped out on the day.

Christmas Carols in the Monastic City
Following the success of last year’s event we invite you to join us at 7 pm on Thursday 19 December for a unique Christmas celebration. We will begin with a procession through the monastic gates and proceed to the ruins of the candlelit Cathedral where the choir will join us in an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style. Some of our most familiar carols would have been sung here by the monks of Glendalough themselves in the 8th and 9th centuries.
Tea and coffee will be provided afterwards in the Glendalough Hotel, courtesy of Pat Casey. Assemble in the hotel car park at 6.45 pm. Wrap up warmly and bring your own lantern/torch and singing voice. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free and all are welcome.
